Saturday night's '98 Rams debut was significant on a couple of fronts.
On the positive side, St. Louis, meet a real NFL running back: Mr. Greg Hill.
But more on that later.
Also on the positive side was something new: Tony Banks back in shotgun formation.

Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?
But on the negative side was something old.
Something Rams fans have seen way too much of from young Banks.
Bad decisions, that is.
On Banks' last pass attempt of the first half, he was flushed out of the pocket to the right side of the field.
While in the open field, the third-year QB spotted an open receiver...but instead of lofting the ball over the defender (DB Darrius Johnson), he instead tried to throw the ball through Johnson.
Bad play.
INT instead of completion. INT instead of a nice gain had Banks decided to run the ball.

All in all, a below average performance (7-13-1-45 yds-1 INT) for Tony Banks, in the first game of his make-or-break season as the Rams starting QB.
