The Effort Was There...but Oh Those Mistakes!
posted August 20

Rams defensive coaches (including coordinator Peter Guinta above) spent a lot of time grousing about defensive lapses in last night's game vs. Buffalo. In a high-scoring game, the Rams lost 31-27. But there were a number of miscues on the offensive side of the ball, too.

An important part of the Rams Super Bowl offense was the screen pass. Versus the Bills, the screen was not a real weapon...as Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk failed to hook up (above).

Tight end Roland Williams had two fumbles...including one on a TE-screen (above) and another while reaching for a touchdown (below).

You can't fault Williams' effort, who lost control of the ball just prior to crossing the goal line.

Close call, eh?

The Rams appealed the play...but were properly denied...

...while Rams fans are appealing for a return to 2000 Rams football.
