A Ho-Hum Win...and A Look Back

The darlings of the NFL, and the only undefeated team of the NFL, the St. Louis Rams, dispatched the Atlanta Falcons for the second time Sunday.

The final score was 41-13...and the Rams appear to be running on all cylinders.

Ho-hum.

Against the Falcons, the operative word was running...as RB Marshall Faulk gained 181 yards on only 18 carries.

But Faulk wasn't the only Ram who ran well in the Georgia Dome.

DE Grant Wistrom intercepted a tipped pass, and ran 91 yards for a TD, while Tony Horne ran 101 yards with a kick-off return...also for a score.

QB Kurt Warner passed for only 111 yards, and the Falcons actually outgained the Rams, 316-283.

But the first-place Rams beat last year's Super Bowl NFC representative for the second time in '99, in their house, by four touchdowns.

All of which makes last week's domination of the 49ers...the game that the Rams needed more than any game this season...more meaningful.

Put that losing streak to rest...

Says here that October 10, 1999 will be a day that Rams fans...and the Rams themselves, will remember for a long long time.

Speaking of tickets...can you spare two?

Marshall Faulk (28), who gained 181 yards vs. the Falcons, earned strong consideration for NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The previous Rams winners in '99?

Isaac Bruce, Kurt Warner, and Az-zahir Hakim.
