The St. Louis Rams improved their record to 6-0 as they defeated the expansion Cleveland Browns 34-3, in front of a sellout crowd at the TWA Dome. The stars of the game, for the Rams, were many. QB Kurt Warner, facing constant double-zone coverage on both of his heralded wide-outs (Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt), was forced to rely on shorter pass routes. Warner's numbers? A workmanlike (!?) 23 of 29; 203 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 interceptions. But an untold story of the Rams fast start has been the protection afforded Warner by the offensive line. |

Sure, Warner's superior decision-making at QB has a lot to do with it, but the Rams o-line looks to be much improved over any of the four previous editions of the St. Louis Rams. And Marshall Faulk, shown below running to the outside vs. the Browns, had another big day, gaining 133 yards on only 16 carries. |

Faulk appears to be the perfect Astro-Turf runner...and his silky, shifty style meshes well with the Rams attacking style of run-blocking. Of course, the Rams defense held the lowly Browns to just three points, too. Near-constant pressure was applied to rookie QB Tim Couch, including the hit shown below put on Couch by CB Todd Lyght. |

All-in-all...a marvelous day for NFL's only undefeated team. Can you say "home playoff game"? |
