What, Me Worry? Sure it was only the San Diego Chargers. But the Rams 57-31 domination of the 'Bolts was so complete that the men from STL, in their first eleven possessions, scored six touchdowns, six PATs, and five field goals. The defending NFL champions are now unbeaten and untied in five regular-season games...and Marshall Faulk continues to turn ordinary-looking plays into long gainers. ![]() And it was only at the game's conclusion that the winless Chargers were able to stop the Rams, as back-up QB Trent Green took a knee on three successive plays to end the massacre. The beauty of the Rams' offense has been documented on these pages on several occasions. Orchestrated by QB Kurt Warner, a defense as woeful as San Diego's was left clutching its hamstrings (literally)...when S Rodney Harrison (the Trent Green 1999 knee-wrecker) was helped off the field. ![]() But the star of this game was the Rams offense and Marshall Faulk... ![]() ...who caught screen passes from Warner (below) and Green... ![]() ...and helped Green make his regular season return a successful one as Warner and Green embraced on the Rams sideline following a Green-to-Faulk TD pass. Sure, Rams head coach Mike Martz has worries, but QB depth isn't one of them. ![]() My how times change. |
