Same Old Same Old

In the St. Louis Rams previous 1999 home games, the average score was Rams 35, Opponents 10.

In Sunday's ho-hum affair vs. Carolina, the Rams defense outscored the woeful Panthers.

But the star of the game?

Hard to say.

Well...you could start with Marshall Faulk, shown below scoring a late touchdown.

Faulk's rushing stats (a pedestrial 73 yards on 16 carries) were nothing to brag about.

But, when combined with his receiving numbers (64 yards on two catches)...the all-purpose nature of Faulk becomes apparent.

Rams TD Roland Williams (below) also made himself apparent vs. the Panthers (three catches, 38 yards, 1 TD).

But perhaps it was the variety of weapons available to Rams QB Kurt Warner that was the star vs. Carolina.

Isaac Bruce (80), for one, had five catches for 69 yards...and one touchdown (shown above).

A healthy Bruce is reminiscent of...Paul Warfield? That's Hall of Fame stuff, folks.

The Rams even tried to get the under-utilized Torry Holt involved...but in the play above...Holt dropped the ball.

Holt's substantial level of skill will be needed in a playoff game...

Oh yeah.

Kurt Warner was 19 for 29, with 2 TDs and only one interception.

And the Rams won a game they were supposed to win--35-10.

Ho-hum.

Next Sunday, Three Com...won't be ho-hum.

No matter how bad the 'Niners are...
