The Billikens Slip by UMKC...

Led by Maurice Jeffers' (31, below) 14 points and 11 rebounds (both team highs), the SLU Billikens defeated UM-KC Sunday afternoon, 66-64.

No Billiken saw more playing time than Jeffers', who logged thirty three minutes of PT.

But Jeffers' shorts weren't as long as Kangaroos' guard Terrance Chatman (3, above).

With the win, the Billikens improved their record to 6-2, and travel to Dayton on Thursday, December 23rd, where they play the unbeaten Flyers.

Justin Tatum (40, above) played thirty minutes vs. UMKC was Justin Tatum, and made his presence felt by nabbing nine rebounds.

Tatum, who works hard underneath and, along with Justin Love, is the only Billiken to average double figures in scoring (about 10 ppg).

The other Billiken to play 30 minutes vs. UMKC was freshman guard Marque Perry (5, four photos below), who, despite scoring only two points, still showed flashes of brilliance.

Passing high and low, Perry appears to have all the tools...and uncommon moxie for a freshman.

The December 23 game at Dayton is the first of four successive road games for Lorenzo Romar's Billikens.

With games at Kansas (Dec. 30), SMS (Jan. 2), and Marqueete (Jan. 5)...one wonders what the Bills record will be when they return home on Saturday, January 8, to host Memphis.
