Coach Jill Pizzotti's St. Louis Billikens women's basketball team has won its first five games. And the Lady Billikens have dominated their opponents in the first portion of the 1999-2000 season-- their 52-44 victory, on the road, over SIU at Carbondale was their smallest margin of victory to date. With success comes recognition--in the form of one and five votes, respectively, in the AP Top 25 polls of November 29 and December 6, respectively. Hey, you've got to start somewhere. The Billiken's leading scorers? |

| Senior guard Mandy Lueking leads the way with a 16.4 ppg average. |

|
6-2 forward Bridget Beckmann is the team's second leading scorer (12.6 ppg) but also is the team's leading rebounder (6.2 rpg). The future is bright for the SLU women because Beckmann is only a junior. |

| But 5-5 playmaking guard Kara Wile, a senior, leads the team in minutes played as well as assists per game (31.4 and 11.0, respectively). |

|
And C April McKinney, the Bills' widebody, chips in with 5.2 rebounds per game...is yet another junior. With the women's Final Four coming to St. Louis' Kiel Center in 2001, it seems only fitting that the host university turns it up a notch or two by then. Hey, you can dream... |
