...as the Blues head to Phoenix trailing three games to one in the opening round of this year's NHL playoff drama...the complaints, comments and critiques of Blues president Mark Sauer, GM Larry Pleau (or is that Dal Maxvill), coach Joel Quenneville, and G Grant Fuhr are louder and more numerous. Seems pretty obvious that Sauer, mandated from above, is doing his Pittsburgh Pirates number on the Blues (slash and burn, the roster, that is)...and that Pleau is the good soldier, much like Ron Caron was all those years. Quenneville? It's hard to criticize the job he's done in both the regular season and the playoffs. Same with Fuhr. The guy's old. But the folks who write us...and who call in to the radio programs...claiming that the reason that the Coyotes are spanking the Blues...is due to the absence of enforcer Tony Twist (pictured above) and tough-guy Kelly Chase... Here's hoping the Blues don't have any playoff games on Mondays...coz those folks would have a hard time deciding what to watch...the WWF...or the Blues. With no Twist or Chaser, says here the wrestlers win that battle... |
