In the wake of a tough eleven inning loss at San Francisco,
a game in which 1999's phenom-to-be, J.D. Drew...took the collar
in six at-bats (striking out three times), manager Tony La Russa
and Drew are undoubtedly looking forward to getting a fresh start
following the All Star break.
In a way, though, the Cardinals have played
pretty good baseball recently. In their most recent six series,
ALL of which have been played vs. quality NL teams (the Mets,
the Astros, the D'backs, and the Reds), their record is a semi-respectable
10-10. Are better results around the corner?
In the meantime, Memphis Redbirds' SS Adam
Kennedy continues to toil (.318 BA; 10 HRs; 51 RBIs in 302 ABs)
in the Pacific Coast League.
Will Kennedy ever make it to St. Louis...or
is he Colorado-bound in a deal for Darryl Kile?
Stay tuned...
