Theere were several points during yesterday's 27-10 St. Louis Rams victory over the Baltimore Ravens when it looked the old Rams were making their way back into the jerseys of the current edition of the Male Sheep. Need an example? Late in the second quarter... the Rams were up 10-3...and driving toward the Ravens goal line The "usual" Ram thing to do? At best...settle for three. At worst...turn the ball over. The middle ground? Can you say "illegal procedure"? That's how bad the Tony Banks-era Rams were. But Kurt Warner is no Tony Banks. And Warner has more weapons than Banks did...and at least against the Ravens, Warner enjoyed better protection than Banks ever did. |

How good was Warner against the Ravens? He capped off a 12-for-15 second quarter with a two-yard TD pass (above) to... Isaac Bruce (below). |

The throw-and-catch (and extra point) made the score a comfortable 17 to 3, in favor of the hometown squad...a deficit that was too great for the woeful Ravens to overcome. The final score? Rams--27-10. The Rams have a bye this week... With New Orleans and the Rams tied for first in the NFC West, it isn't hyperbole to suggest that the September 26 Falcons-Rams game is perhaps the biggest game in the short history of the TWA Dome. |
